Missouri State swimming and diving will compete in one of the most prestigious meets in the country from Nov. 20 to Nov. 22. The Purdue Invitational will host some of the top swimming talents in the country. In a recent poll conducted by the College Swim Coaches Association of America, Ohio State (14
th men's poll), Purdue (16
th men's poll, 22
nd women's poll), Louisville (17
th men's poll, 15
th women's poll) and Arkansas (18
th women's poll) all ranked in the top 25 and will be present in the Invitational. Missouri State men's team was ranked 37
th in the same poll.
"The Purdue Invitational is one of the fastest invites of the year," associate head coach Dave Collins said. "Our athletes are looking forward to competing at a high level against nationally-ranked opponents. This format mirrors our conference championships, so it will be a great experience for our team."
This will be the first meet the Bears have competed in since swimming against Truman State on Nov. 7. The men's team is currently 4-1 in dual meets and a first-place finish at the Missouri Showdown. The women's team is 3-2 with a second-place finish at the Missouri Showdown. The Bears have been performing very well all season, with three men earning Mid-American Conference Swimmer of the Week honors, two women named Missouri Valley Conference Swimmer of the Week, and one Missouri Valley Conference Diver of the Week award.
