Missouri State University season ticket packages for the 2008 football and volleyball seasons are currently available by contacting the Missouri State ticket office at (417) 836-7678.
The football home schedule is highlighted by the September 4 season opener against Washburn along with four Missouri Valley Football Conference games. The Bears will host Western Illinois on October 4, before a homecoming engagement with Youngstown State on October 11. The Bears host long-time rival Southern Illinois in a regionally-televised game on October 25 before hosting league newcomer and preseason favorite North Dakota State on November 15.
Also new this year, fans will enjoy the new scoreboard at Plaster Sports Complex that features a 24-foot video board to see all the exciting Bears action, replays, statistics and graphics packages.
Coach Terry Allen’s football Bears are coming off a 6-5 season and return 70 players and 15 starters from a team that averaged 36.3 points per game and 414.3 yards total offense a year ago.
Football season ticket packages range from $35 to $100 and are available in all stadium areas. Upper-level chair back packages are $100 ($90 for children and seniors and $64 for faculty and staff), while upper-level reserved bleacher back seats are $80 ($72 for seniors and children and $50 for faculty and staff). Lower-level reserved bleachers are $50 ($35 for faculty and staff).
The MSU volleyball team will have 14 home matches, all played in Hammons Student Center. The annual Maroon and White Scrimmage match kicks off the 2008 season on August 21 before the T.J. Sales - Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Invitational brings Arkansas-Little Rock, Alcorn State and IPFW to town, September 12-13. The team will also host SIU-Edwardsville and Texas-Pan American in non-conference play in addition to nine Missouri Valley Conference matches highlighted by a visit by defending league champion Northern Iowa on October 18.
Coming off their third straight NCAA Tournament appearance and ninth consecutive 20-win season, Coach Melissa Stokes’ volleyball team is poised for another great campaign in 2008.
