Evansville's top goal scorer, Kayla Lambert scored her 13th goal of the season in the 8th minute of the match to put the Purple Aces up 1-0. Lambert dribbled down the middle of the field, made a spin move and sent the ball into the back of the net past Bears' keeper Jackie Jasper.

The Purple Aces extended their lead to 2-0 as Evansville's Colleen Marty received a pass from teammate Mia Tofano and sent a shot into the back of the net uncontested by Jasper.

Lambert would strike again at the 33:30 minute mark giving the Purple Aces a 3-0 lead over the Bears. Lambert received a long pass from teammate Nicole Moyen that led to a breakaway goal.

Despite firing 11 shots in the first half, Missouri State remained scoreless after 45 minutes of action.
