Foley, Del Conte Earn Conference Volleyball Honors

Missouri State junior outside hitter Addie Foley and senior libero Terri Del Conte each garnered Missouri Valley Conference volleyball awards this week, it was announced by the league office Monday. Foley is the league’s Player of the Week, while Del Conte earned the Defensive Player of the Week nod.
    
    Foley led the Bears in hitting percentage and kills for the week, averaging 3.50 kills on .304 hitting in wins over Indiana State and Illinois State. She also added nine digs for a 1.12 per set average, five blocks, an assist and a service ace.

    The Las Vegas native had 14 kills and hit .324 against Indiana State on Friday, including two kills to fend off ISU match point opportunities in the third set. She also had eight digs and four blocks versus the Sycamores. Foley led the Bears with another 14 kills the next night against Illinois State, hitting .286 in the sweep of the Redbirds.

    Del Conte averaged 5.75 digs per set and had 46 total in the two MSU wins, beginning with a career-high and MSU season high 27 against Indiana State on Friday. She saved her best for last against the Sycamores, digging nine balls in the deciding fifth set, a 15-12 Bears victory.

    On Saturday, the Long Beach, Calif., native had 19 digs in three sets versus Illinois State, and ended the week with a perfect 47-for-47 in service reception chances.

    Missouri State is 11-6 on the season and in a tie for third at 3-2 in the league standings heading into weekend contests at Southern Illinois and Evansville.
