Missouri State freshman right side hitter Kelley Michnowicz has earned the Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Week award for the second consecutive week, the league office announced Monday.

    Michnowicz led Missouri State (16-8, 7-4 MVC) in kills and hitting percentage after averaging 2.88 kills per set and committing just three errors in 48 attempts for a .417 attack percentage in two matches.

    The Belleville, Ill., native reached double figures in kills in both outings, beginning with a match-high 12 Friday against Drake. Michnowicz finished with those 12 kills despite seven players in the match taking more swings, as she hit .611 with one error in 18 attempts.

    On Saturday versus Creighton, Michnowicz had 11 kills and hit .300 while adding three assists. She also finished the week with four digs in each match for a 1.00 per set average and three total blocks.
