The Missouri State Men’s soccer team will face the Creighton Bluejays on Tuesday (Oct.21) in conference play. The Bears come into the game after a big win over the Evansville Aces (7-6-1).
The Bears defeated the Aces at Evansville on Wednesday (Oct. 15) 2-0 to push their conference record to 1-1 and 4-7-3 overall. The Bears’ defense was led by the stellar play of goalkeeper Alex Riggs who had four saves on the night to push his season total to 64. The Bears are led offensively by three freshmen: Heath Melugin, who has three goals on the season, David Buckenhemier and Jordan Barnes who have two goals each.
The Bears have been playing very well as of late and will look to shock the Bluejays on Tuesday. The Bears have been showing great offensive potential scoring at least two goals in four of their last five games.
The Bluejays are ranked second nationally, first regionally and are atop the Missouri Valley Conference standings with a 2-0 record in conference play. The Bluejays average 1.75 goals per game and are led offensively by Andrei Gotsmanov with seven goals for the season.
The game will be at Plaster Field in Springfield, Mo., at 7 p.m.
