The Missouri State men’s and women’s soccer teams will host nine and eight matches, respectively, at Plaster Sports Complex during the upcoming 2007 season.
The men’s team will play its first four contests of the season at home, including the opener Sept. 1 against Centenary and the annual Comfort Inn/Diadora Tournament Sept. 7 and 8. The Bears will host Missouri Valley Conference matches against Bradley, Evansville, and Drake in 2007. The team will travel to tournaments at Tulsa, Nevada-Las Vegas, and Bradley. The schedule features two matches against first-time opponents and five against participants in the 2006 NCAA Tournament.
The women’s schedule is highlighted with home contests against three 2006 NCAA Tournament participants in Southeast Missouri State, Saint Louis, and Drake. The team will open with an Aug. 31 home match against Western Michigan and will host MVC foes Northern Iowa and Illinois State, along with MVC Tournament champion Drake. The Bears will travel to Big 12 Conference members Nebraska and Kansas and to Arkansas of the Southeastern Conference.
The 2007 State Farm MVC men’s tournament will be held at Creighton, beginning with the quarterfinals on Nov. 14. The women’s tournament quarterfinals will be held on campus sites on Nov. 4, with the semifinals and finals being held at Evansville Nov. 9 and 11.
