The women’s basketball staff at Missouri State University is now complete for the 2007-08 season with the addition of Eafton Hill as director of basketball operations.
Hill, who played one season for new Missouri State head coach Nyla Milleson at Drury University, becomes the third member of Milleson’s first MSU staff with ties to Drury, joining associate head coach Trish Marsh and assistant coach Carly Stubblefield, who both served on the women’s basketball staff at DU.
As director of operations, Hill will oversee Missouri State’s film exchange, academic monitoring and equipment operations, while coordinating team travel arrangements and assisting with Lady Bear basketball camp operations. Her appointment is subject to the approval of the Missouri State Board of Governors at an upcoming meeting.
A native of Boone, N.C., Hill earned All-Heartland Conference Second Team honors as in 2004-05, her only year at Drury. She averaged 12.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per contest and finished in the conference’s top 10 in rebounding, blocked shots, steals and field goal percentage. Hill was named the league’s player of the week four times in helping the 29-2 Lady Panthers advance to the NCAA Division II national tournament.
Following the conclusion of her collegiate career, Hill was signed as a free agent by the WNBA’s Detroit Shock, where she was a teammate of former Lady Bear standout Jenni Lingor during the 2005 preseason.
Prior to joining the DU program, Hill lettered three years at Wake Forest University, where she was named to the ACC All-Freshman squad in 2000-01 after leading the Deacons in scoring with an 11.4 point per game average. Hill earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from Wake Forest in 2004 and recently completed her master’s degree in education from Drury.
Hill will begin her duties at Missouri State in June after completing her second year of teaching freshman physical education and coaching softball, track and girl’s basketball at Springfield Parkview High School.
