Missouri State sophomore midfielder Kyle Windmueller is the Brine/Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week. The Cedar Hill, Mo. native came up big for Missouri State in a 3-1 victory over Drake, Saturday, at Plaster Field.
Windmueler scored a goal and registered two assists to spark the Bears offensively and secure the sixth and final spot in the State Farm MVC Tournament. Missouri State (6-10-3) wil face third-seeded Evansville (10-8-0), Wednesday, at 5 p.m. in Omaha, Neb. The Aces defeated the Bears 2-1, November 3. The overall series between the two teams is even at 7-7-2 overall. The winner of Wednesday’s match will face No. 2 seed and host Creighton, Friday at 5 p.m.
Windmueller leads the Bears in scoring with 15 points, scoring eight of those in his last three matches, two of which were MSU victories.
