Missouri State women’s soccer juniors Allison Osmundson and Jackie Jasper swept the Missouri Valley Conference offensive and defensive player of the week awards after a pair of conference victories last week by the Bears, it was announced by the league Monday.

A native of Marshalltown, Iowa, Osmundson scored two goals and added an assist for the Bears in MSU’s two wins. The goals were her first and second of the year and each proved to be the game-winner. Osmundson scored the only goal of the contest in the victory over Drake Sunday and she led the Bears offensively with two shots, both on goal. Osmundson sparked the Bears’ offense when she scored the first goal of the match and later added an assist in the win over Northern Iowa.

Jasper anchored the Bears’ defense by recording shutout victories over the University of Northern Iowa and Drake. The Lockport, Ill., native posted 10 saves on the weekend, earning her the number one spot in the Valley in goals against average (0.74) and save percentage (.836). Jasper posted her fifth shutout of the season, and has allowed only two goals in the last five matches.
