The Missouri State women’s soccer team won its second consecutive Missouri Valley Conference match, Saturday, at Plaster Field. The Bears defeated Drake 1-0 to improve to 6-9-1 overall and 2-1-1 in MVC action.
Junior midfielder Allison Osmundson’s header from five-yards out in the 60th minute was the game winner. Freshman defender Jordan Reppell assisted on the goal with a nifty crossing pass.
Gusty wind made playing conditions difficult for both teams. MSU junior goalkeeper Jackie Jasper recorded seven of her nine saves in the opening half as the Bears played into the wind. Drake managed just two shots on goal in the second half.
Missouri State will host conference foe Illinois State, Friday, at Plaster Field in its final home match of the 2007 season.
