Sophomore Kate Blair was named the offensive player of the week by the Missouri Valley Conference, the Bears' second honor in as many weeks, as freshman Allison Osmundson was named the Valley defensive player of the week for the first week of the season.
Blair had the game-winning goal in the Bears’ 4-0 victory over the Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks, Sunday. She scored her second goal of the season, just over five minutes into the contest, which proved to be all Missouri State would need.
Just over four minutes later, Blair assisted Chelsea Anderson on the Bears’ second goal of the day, for the first assist of her career. The St. Louis native posted a .667 shots on goal percentage and .333 shots percentage in the two matches played last week.
With Sunday's game winner, Blair moves into second place on the Missouri State career game-winning goals list with six and needs just five more to break the record which stands at 10.
Blair, and the Bears (3-1) travel to Denton, Texas, Friday to face the University of North Texas, with game time set for 7 p.m.
