Missouri State's Victor Serra was named the Missouri Valley Conference Male Swimmer of the Week for the week of Nov. 16-22, the league office announced Wednesday.

Serra, a freshman, from Valencia, Spain, swam the third leg of the winning 200-yard medley relay that set of a new pool record at the Pershing Natatorium with a time of 1:34.40, Saturday, Nov. 12, at Truman State University. Serra also claimed a first-place finish in the 100 butterfly in 51.68. Serra competed as the anchor for the 400 freestyle relay that finished second to the Truman Bulldogs in 3:13.57.

The Missouri State swimming and diving teams will be back in action Friday, Nov. 18, in West Lafayette, Ind., when they compete in the Purdue University Invitational.
