Freshman goalkeeper Jackie Jasper pulled in 10 saves, tying her season high, to lead the Missouri State women's soccer squad to a 1-0 upset of the 29th-ranked Saint Louis Billikens, Thursday at Cooper Sports Complex. The Bears improve to 9-2-4 on the season, and travel to Omaha, Neb., Sunday, to conclude the Missouri Valley Conference regular season against the Creighton Bluejays at 1 p.m.
After a Saint Louis foul at the 62nd minute, Angela Parsons served the ball in the box to Kate Hercules who headed the ball into the back of the net for her third goal of the season, to give the Bears the 1-0 advantage
That would be all the Bears would need as Jasper earned 10 saves on the night improving to 9-2-4 on the season.
Saint Louis junior Maureen Hughes sent a shot into the net just over a minute into the match, but was called for offsides on the play.
The Billikens outshot Missouri State 7-2 in the first half of action, and 15-8 overall, with Saint Louis placing 10 shots on goal to the Bears four.
