This week's Murney Student-Athlete of the Week is Missouri State volleyball's Azyah Green. Green averaged 2.78 kills and 1.33 blocks per set while hitting .391 to earn all-tournament honors at the UTSA Invitational. The fifth-year senior helped the Bears hold opponents to a .066 attack efficiency and average 2.50 blocks as a team, both tops in the MVC through one weekend. In Friday’s season opener, Green hit .600 with 10 kills against one error, adding three blocks. She had six kills and three blocks in Friday evening’s match at UTSA, then hit .412 with nine kills and six blocks in a sweep of Texas Southern on Saturday, helping the Bears hold the Tigers to -.096 hitting, the lowest for an opponent since 2013. Green also moved up one spot to seventh in MSU’s career list with 476 career blocks.
