This week's Murney Student-Athlete of the Week is Missouri State women's basketball player Alston Mason. Mason had a breakout week for the Bears, capitalizing on his return to the starting lineup. The sophomore transfer from Oklahoma posted a career-high 19 points in the Bears' win over UIC, also collecting 5 rebounds and 5 assists while going 8-for-9 at the line. He followed that effort with another career high at Murray State, going for 22 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists on 7-of-14 from the field and 6-of-6 at the line with a pair of 3-pointers. For the week, Mason led the team with 20.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.5 3-pointers per contest, while going 14-of-15 (.933) at the free throw line. Prior to this week's two games, Mason had not been in MoState's starting lineup since Dec. 16.
