This week's Murney Student-Athlete of the Week is Missouri State tennis player Diana Cabrera. Competing in Flight 1 Singles at the Missouri Valley Conference Individual Women's Tennis Championships Cabrera earned a second-place finish after making it all the way to the finals, taking down Drake’s Ines Stephani, 6-7 (6-8), 6-1, 6-1 and UIC’s Agnes Gustafsson, 7-5, 6-4 in the process. She eventually fell to Belmont’s Mariia Hlahola, 6-2, 6-3 in the first-place match. Cabrera was one win away from doing something never been done before in MoState history: earn first place in the Valley Individual Championship at No. 1 singles. Â
