Scott Moore begins his fourth season as MSU’s Director of Basketball Operations in the 2016-17 academic year.

As director of operations, Moore oversees Missouri State’s film exchange, coordinates team travel arrangements and operates Lady Bear basketball camps.

Moore came to Missouri State after a six-year stint as an assistant coach at Division II North Greenville University in Tigerville, S.C.. Moore had a hand in all facets of the NGU program, serving as recruiting coordinator to go with responsibilities in scheduling, on-floor coaching, game scouting, strength and conditioning, and academics.

Moore’s path first crossed with Harper while he was pursuing a master’s degree in education at Western Carolina University. During his second year at WCU, he became a volunteer student assistant for Harper’s Catamounts, eventually parlaying that into positions as the team’s operations director and then full-time assistant coach after his graduation in 2006.

As an undergraduate at Concordia University of River Forest, Ill., Moore began his coaching career as a student assistant for the women’s basketball team in 1995 and took over as a full-time assistant the following year.

Between his time at Concordia and WCU, Moore held a variety of positions, including assistant men’s basketball coach at Wisconsin-Baraboo, head girls basketball coach at Montello (Wis.) High School, and sports editor at two newspapers.

Moore earned his undergraduate degree from Concordia in 1996, and married the former Deborah Schelling that same year. The couple has two sons, Dylan and Tyler.
