Was an all-state point guard for Woodlawn (Ill.) High for coach Shane Witzel … Part of a 29-5 state semifinal run by the Cardinals in 2016 while earning AP all-state first-team honors … Also earned Midland Trail Conference Player of the Year honors in 2016 with IBCA second-team all-state distinction … Averaged 16.0 points per game and connected on 44-percent of his 3-pointers as a senior while becoming Woodlawn’s career and season leader in assists … Became the first player in school history to score 1,000 points with 500 rebounds and 500 assists … Was a starter as a junior and sophomore as well … Also played football and baseball in high school, starting three years as a wide receiver and safety.
