Matt McGouran joined Missouri State’s staff as its new director of basketball operations on August 1, 2023.
McGouran arrived in Springfield after spending the last previous at Texas State University in San Marcos. He joined Texas State in September 2022 and assisted with all travel and expense reports for all of the athletic department teams.
Prior to his time Texas State, McGouran was a graduate assistant coach for the men’s basketball team at Texas A&M-Kingsville (2020-21), a box office representative for Spurs Sports & Entertainment (2019-2020), and a member of the internal operations team, working directly with the men’s basketball program, at the University of Houston (2018-19).
McGouran graduated from Houston in December 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Administration and a master’s in Business Administration from Texas A&M-Kingsville in 2022.
