Chris Steck joined the Missouri State staff in the summer of 2019 as the men's basketball team’s strength and conditioning coach.
The native of Mount Carmel, Pa., spent the previous two seasons as the head strength coach at Albright College in Reading, Pa., where he oversaw all 24 varsity sports and was co-director of the student recreation center.
Steck also has stints at St. Joseph’s University (2017), UNC Pembroke (2015-17) and Penn State (2014-15), where he not only worked with men’s and women’s basketball, but oversaw the athletic development of dozens of student-athletes and a cast of student interns.
He is a product of Bloomsburg (Pa.) University where he was a two-time captain and three-time all-conference selection on the football team. He was also named a Don Hanson All-Super Region second team honors twice.
Steck owns SCCC certification as well as proficiency in First Aid, CPR and AED emergency response protocol.
