Venable joins the Bears from Ozark, Mo., where she attended Ozark High School and was a four-year starter…Earned first-team all-district and first-team All-Central Ozark Conference honors as a freshman after leading the COC with 371 kills…Repeated as a first-team all-district and all-conference selection as a sophomore while helping the Tigers to a 27-6 record…Produced a breakout junior season with 523 kills, 356 digs, 62 blocks and 52 aces while helping Ozark finish 38-4, win conference and district championships and place second in the state…Earned AVCA All-America Honorable Mention, AVCA All-Region, all-state, all-district and all-conference honors and was named the Springfield Sports Commission Volleyball Athlete of the Year…Also set an MSHSAA single-match record for attack percentage…Closed her prep career with 502 kills and a .366 hitting percentage as a senior while again earning AVCA All-America Honorable Mention, AVCA All-Region, all-state, all-district and all-conference recognition…Finished with an Ozark High School-record 1,708 career kills, ranking among the top 10 in the MSHSAA record book…Was named Ozark High School Miss Volleyball and earned AVCA Best and Brightest First-Team recognition…Also earned a spot on the p1440 Beach Fab 50.

Tara Leray Venable was born on June 27, 2007, in Springfield, Mo.…Daughter of Ben Venable and Brandy Bough-Venable…Has two sisters, Kira and Aria…Her family includes former Missouri State volleyball player Ashley Warren-Bough and former Missouri State baseball player Brett Bough, along with relatives who competed in track and field at UT Martin and College of the Ozarks…Her mother played basketball collegiately…Plans to pursue a degree in early childhood education.
