Horton Smith Men's Golf Scholarship

This endowed scholarship fund provides scholarships for members of the Missouri State University men's golf team. The endowment was established in memory of Horton Smith.
Biographical Information:
Horton Smith was a native of Springfield, Missouri. He was a professional golfer on the PGA Tour and was best known for being the first man to win the Masters Tournament.

Scholarships will be awarded annually to a student(s) enrolled at Missouri State University who are members of the Missouri State Golf Team. All things being equal, priority will be given to members of the Missouri State Men's Golf Team. Recipients must be enrolled in at least 12 hours each semester and must meet all NCAA requirements. Consideration will be given based on leadership qualities, sportsmanship, and outstanding character.
Renewable: Must reapply each year.

Scholarship(s) will be awarded annually to a student(s) enrolled at Missouri State University who are members or prospective members of the women's golf team. Consideration will be given to applicants who have proven themselves to be outstanding members of the golf team or prospective members of the golf team. Applicants must adhere to current NCAA eligibility requirements.
Renewable: This award is renewable but each award winner must re-apply for the scholarship and must meet or exceed criteria.
