A versatile athlete with strong passing and shooting abilities, Kelsey Smith should challenge for a spot in the Lady Bears[apos] regular rotation as a freshman in 2009-10. At 6-2, Smith can play on the block as well as the perimeter, where she has the ability to stretch defenses with her shooting and passing abilities.

Smith was a first-team All-District 6-5A selection for the second straight year as a senior after helping Coppell (Texas) High finish 8-19...Averaged 16 points, nine rebounds and two assists while serving as a team captain for the Cowgirls in 2008-09...Contributed 16.7 points and 7.3 rebounds to lead Coppell to a 20-16 mark in 2007-08...Played AAU ball with the Texas Express 17 club...Also competed in track and field at Coppell.
