SPRINGFIELD - As a department, Missouri State University's student-athletes combined for a record 3.391 grade-point average with more than 6,100 academic hours of class time for the spring 2026 semester, the university has announced.
It marks the highest semester GPA on record for the department with 17 teams eclipsing a 3.0 grade-point average or better for the term. The performance exceeds the department's previous semester standard of 3.368, set during the fall 2024 semester.
All told, 373 of 464 student-athletes recorded a 3.0 GPA or better this spring (80.4 percent). Likewise, 250 individuals made the Dean's List with a 3.5 GPA or better, and 89 student-athletes posted a perfect 4.0 GPA this semester.
The spring term also represents the highest semester GPA on record for five sports with baseball (3.44), football (3.04), women's track & field (3.65), acrobatics & tumbling (3.58) and STUNT (3.57) elevating their classroom efforts to new heights.
All 13 Mo State women's programs achieved a 3.0 or higher this spring with eight sports logging a 3.50 GPA for the semester. Led by cross country (3.75), the university's female student-athletes combined for an all-time high 3.574 semester average.
On the men's side, baseball led all programs, followed closely by swimming & diving (3.43) as part of a record-breaking 3.154 combined effort by all men's sports.
All Missouri State student-athletes with a 3.0 semester GPA are recognized as honorees on the MSU Athletic Director's Honor Roll, which will be announced at a later date.
