Final Results
GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- The Missouri State men's golf team finished 12th Tuesday (Feb. 17) at the Loyola Intercollegiate at Palm Valley Golf Club, its first competition of the spring season.
After posting a 296 in the opening round on Sunday, the Bears rebounded nicely with 279 Monday and 291 in the final round for an 866 total.
Freshman
Pedro Gallegos led the way for MSU throughout the tournament, finishing in a tie for 25th by carding 73-69-71--213, three-under-par. Junior
Owen Swearingen and sophomore
Jonathan Jordan were second for the Bears and tied for 50th overall at even-par 216. Swearingen shot 74-70-72 and Jordan posted 73-70-73. Freshman
Noah Naugle tied for 95th with 76-70-78--224 and sophomore
Andrew Fallis shot 76-75-75--226.
Richmond claimed the team title with a blistering 34-under-par 830 to edge host Loyola (Md.) by three shots.
MoState is idle next week before returning to action Mar. 2-3 at the HBU Colin Montgomerie Invitational in Sugarland, Texas.
