SPRINGFIELD - Missouri State University's new Pivot Performance Turf surface at Robert W. Plaster Stadium will be installed over the next few weeks and will include a cutting-edge design for the program's entree into Conference USA and FBS football later this year.
Weather permitting, removal of the old playing surface will begin on Monday, April 7. Once that is complete, the new surface installation will take approximately six weeks to finish with a target completion date of May 20.
The field's new design incorporates a variety of new elements, including the modern "MoState" script logo in both end zones. A tribute to Missouri State University's statewide footprint is proudly displayed in the center of the field with the outline of the Show-Me State accenting the traditional bear-head logo at mid-field. The refresh sets the stage for a modern tribute to the football program's next chapter in CUSA with new conference logos staggered at both 25-yard lines.
Pivot 1.5 is the highest-performing and most-durable artificial surface Tencate has ever manufactured. It provides ultimate performance for footing and surface contact release. The unique combination of 100-percent polyethylene yarns plays and responds like the industry's top natural grass surfaces. The environmentally-friendly product does not require any infill and maintains a real-grass feel without intensive maintenance.
The Missouri State Board of Governors has already approved the $1,820,000 project, which is backed by an industry-best 12-year warranty.
