Missouri State men's golf coach
Neal Stafford has added a second European standout to his 2026 recruiting class. Stafford announced Monday (Dec. 8) the signing of Leon Herb of NuBloch, Germany to join his squad for the 2026-27 academic year.
Herb finished fifth last month at the prestigious Barcelona International Cup and has posted four other top-five finishes in World Amateur Golf Ranking events in the past year, including a win at the International Junior Golf Masters, and second at the RB German Junior and WAGR Panoramica. A year ago, he advanced to match play at the British Boys Championship, placed ninth at the German U18 Boys and was a member of the winning German U18 Team Champions. Herb is currently ranked no. 1461 in the WAGRÂ Rankings.
"We are looking forward to welcoming Leon to our program," said Stafford. "When meeting him for the first time, I could immediately tell he is a high-level player with professional golf aspirations. His interest in Missouri State and eagerness to help get the Bears back to national prominence was very apparent. Leon will be another great addition to a very strong 2026-27 roster!"
Herb joins Francesco Petrangeli of Rome, Italy, who signed with the Bears last month, in MSU's 2026 recruiting class.
