Bear Threesome Earns Valley Academic Honors
May 02, 2024 | Women's Golf
Three Missouri State seniors from the women's golf team have earned recognition from the Missouri Valley Conference for their achievements in the classroom. Kayla Pfitzner and Johanna Wollenhaupt have been named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete Second Team, while Chayenne Chivrac received honorable mention. They are three of the 23 student-athletes honored by the league's sports information directors in voting conducted earlier this week.
Pfitzner is set to graduate next week with a bachelor's degree in Marketing and a 3.79 grade-point average. Wollenhaupt compiled a 3.69 GPA while earning her bachelor's in Marketing/International Business a year ago, and will receive a master's in Project Management with a 4.0 GPA next week. The pair have previously been named All-American Scholars multiple times by the Women's Golf Coaches Association. Pfitzner is a three-time all-conference performer on the course, and she and Wollenhaupt ranked 1-2 for the Bears in scoring average this past season.
Chivrac finished 12th at the MVC Championship last month and ranked third on the team in scoring average in her only season at MSU after transferring from Western Texas College. She has compiled a 3.75 GPA between the two schools, 4.0 at MSU, while majoring in Sport, Parks and Recreation.
