COAL VALLEY, Ill. -- Missouri State senior Max Kreikemeier took home his third consecutive all-Missouri Valley Conference honor Tuesday (Apr. 25) and the Bears finished ninth in the team race at the MVC Men's Golf Championship at Oakwood Country Club.

Kreikemeier, a Chesterfield, Mo. native, shot a one-over-par 72 in Tuesday's final round after carding 71 each of the first two days for a 214 total and became the third men's golfer in MSU history to pick up all-league honors three times. The previous two to pull off that feat were Rohan Allwood in 1998-2000 and Will Hogan in 2010-12. Kreikemeier tied for 11th in the tournament and was the Bears' leader throughout the season and placed third in the Valley in scoring average.

Senior JP Lavalle closed with a final-round 69 and tied for 20th in the tournament, posting 77-71-69--217 for the tournament. Junior Eric Schuessler was third for MSU and 44th overall with 76-73-77--226, while senior Austin Gillund tied for 46th after shooting 76-75-79--230 and senior Carter Lee was 48th, posting 74-80-77--231.

Pre-tournament favorite Illinois State cruised to the team title with an 836, while Valparaiso (849) was second and UNI third (856). Bradley finished fourth with 858, with Southern Illinois and Murray State tying for fifth at 862. Evansville (863) was seventh, followed by Belmont (869), the Bears and Drake (883).
