Bear Golfer Earns MVC Weekly Honor
February 18, 2021 | Men's Golf
Missouri State's Max Kreikemeier has been named Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week for his performance last weekend in the Bears' spring opener. Kreikemeier tied for 12th at the LaTour Intercollegiate in Matthews, La., last Saturday and Sunday (Feb. 13-14), leading them to a sixth-place finish.
A sophomore from Chesterfield, Mo., he carded 73-73--146, two over par at LaTour Golf Club in the event, which was shortened from the original 54 holes due to inclement weather. Kreikemeier led the Bears in the fall with a 75.33 scoring average and a seventh-place finish at the Zach Johnson Invitational. He also led the team in scoring average a year ago, finishing fourth in the Valley with a 72.95 mark.
MSU is scheduled to host Northern Illinois in a dual meet next Friday and Saturday (Feb. 26-27).
