December 13, 2021 | Men's Basketball
ST. LOUIS & BOSTON – Missouri State guard Isiaih Mosley earned a pair of distinct honors Monday (Dec. 13) by being recognized as the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week and the Lou Henson Mid-Major National Player of the Week.
Â
Mosley, a junior from Columbia, Mo., led the Bears to a pair of impressive wins last week with a road win at Little Rock and home victory over Oral Roberts.
Â
He recorded his 20th career 20-point scoring game in Saturday's win over Oral Roberts, going 10-for-20 from the field with a game-high 25 points to reach the milestone. His effort against ORU came on the heels of a 21-point outburst in MSU's road win at Little Rock. For the week, Mosley averaged 23.0 points per game with his fourth and fifth 20-point outputs of the season while making 19-of-35 (.543) field goal attempts, going 7-for-7 at the line, and snagging a team-best 7.0 rebounds per game.
Â
It is Mosley's fourth career MVC Player of the Week recognition. The league also recognized Southern Illinois' Ben Coupet as MVC Newcomer of the Week on Monday.
Â
For his efforts, Mosley was also presented with the Lou Henson National Player of the Week, awarded weekly to the top mid-major standout in Division I college basketball.
Â
Mosley and teammate Gaige Prim are among a cast of the nation's top performers named to the Lou Henson Award watch list earlier this season. The 2022 Lou Henson National Player of the Year Award will be announced on April 1 in New Orleans, site of the NCAA men's basketball championship.
