Knoesel Paces Bears in Arkansas
Sophomore Jack Knoesel
led the Bears to their third-place finish at the Red Wolves Intercollegiate. Knoesel fired a 70-76-71--217 over two days to tie for third and was named to the "Ed Way All-Tournament Team". Shooting par in round three, Adam Fisher
and Kory Franks
both had their best rounds to close out the tournament. Fisher tied for 14th
in the individual standings with a score of 76-75-72--223. Franks shot 76-78-72--226 to tie for 22nd. Sophomore Brad Carpenter
had a 74-73-77--224 to tie for 16th, and Lukas McCalla
shot 84-78-77--239. Arkansas State's Matthew Cole took over the lead in round three after firing 72-70-71--213.
The Bears 296-302-292--890 put them tied with UT-Martin for third. Host Arkansas State commanded the first and second place spots with 295-294-291--880 and their "B" team posting 299-291-292--882. SIU Edwardsville (893), Murray State (895), South Dakota (896), Florida Atlantic (903), Omaha (907), and Northern Iowa (916) rounded out the top 10.
The Bears compete in their final regular season tournament at The Peter Malnati in Columbia, Mo. from April 10-11.
