SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Missouri State women's soccer handed out its team award at the annual year-end banquet held at the Plaster Student Union on Friday night (Jan. 29).
Taking home top honors was senior Alix Opfer, who was named team MVP and earned the Golden Boot Award. The All-MVC first teamer scored a team-high eight goals and added four assists in final season at MSU.
Freshman Brooke Prondzinski was bestowed the Rookie of the Year Award along with the Silver Boot Award. The first-year player tallied three goals and put up a league-best eight assists. She picked up All-MVC second team honors and was named to the MVC All-Freshman Team.
The Bears also handed out their trifecta of Leadership Awards. Senior Lauren Fussell took home the mentor honor, junior Laura Ketzer nabbed the teammate accolade and fellow junior Millie Kingsbury was recognized for her commitment.
Missouri State head coach Rob Brewer also handed out the regular season hardware at the banquet. His squad went 9-7-1 during the 2015 season and reached the MVC Tournament for the 19th time in his 20 seasons.
