SPRINGFIELD -- Missouri State concluded its fall tennis season Saturday with several victories at the MSU Fall Invitational at Cooper Tennis Complex.

"It was nice to be able to end our fall season here at home in Springfield," commented head coach Mallory Weber. "It is great to be able to play such talented teams to continue to see how we need to keep striving for more. This weekend should motivate us to keep working hard heading into offseason and our spring schedule."

MSU's Alye Darter and Phoebe Boeschen snagged a pair of doubles victories in the top flight, battling back through the consolation bracket for a fifth-place finish following identical 6-3 wins over teams from SEMO and Central Arkansas.

Boeschen added a solid showing in the Flight 4 championship to her impressive day, falling 10-6 in the third set to Arkansas' Peyton Jennings. Missouri State's Fati Khamissi and Alexia Meyer each picked up straight-set single victories over players from Evangel by 6-1, 6-0 scores.

Missouri State will return to action when the spring dual season begins in January. The Bears accumulated more than 40 combined singles and doubles victories in four tournaments and two duals during the fall campaign.
