SPRINGFIELD -- Missouri State's Phoebe Boeschen won her two matches in Flight 4 singles Friday to advance to Saturday's championship match at the Missouri State Fall Invitational at Cooper Tennis Complex. 

Boeschen, a sophomore from Columbia, Mo., made the furthest advancement of Missouri State's eight competitors on the day, defeating Joanne Hollings of SEMO and Louisiana Tech's Jill van den Dungen in straight sets to earn a spot in the title match against Peyton Jennings of Arkansas.

Abbey Belote bounced back from a first-round loss to Jennings by topping Evangel's Katharina Kah, 6-1, 6-1, to set up a Flight 4 consolation final match with Hollings on Saturday. The Bears were unable to snag victories with any of their four doubles teams or in the top three singles flights.

Competition continues at 9 a.m. Saturday at Cooper in MSU's final outing of the fall season.
