Three Lady Bears Earn All-Conference Distinction

March 11, 2015

St. LOUIS - Kenzie Williams, Tyonna Snow and Liza Fruendt earned all-Missouri Valley Conference honors Wednesday (March 11), it was announced by the league office. Williams is a first-team all-league selection, Snow earned honorable mention and all-defensive honors for a second consecutive season, and Fruendt is on the five-member all-freshman squad.

Williams leads the Lady Bears (16-13, 13-5 MVC) in scoring at 15.8 points per game, including a 16.1 average on 46 percent field goal shooting in conference games. She also averages 5.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.9 steals, while ranking among the league's top 15 in scoring, rebounding, field goal percentage, assists, steals, free throw percentage, 3-pointers per game and 3-point percentage.

The MVC Player of the Week on Dec. 15, Williams has scored in double figures in 25 of MSU's 29 games this season with seven outings of 20 points or more. The Mt. Vernon, Mo., native joined the school's 1,000-point club in February, currently ranking 19th on the career scoring list with 1,120 points.

Snow averages 13.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 3.2 steals for the Lady Bears, ranking second in the league with 67 total steals despite missing the first eight games of the season.

The junior from Blue Springs, Mo., averages 3.4 thefts in MVC games, and 3.79 over her last 14 contests, a rate better than the NCAA leader. She has scored in double figures 18 times this year with a high of 25, while shooting 40 percent from the floor. Snow currently ranks seventh in MSU history with 231 career steals and 27th with 949 career points.

Fruendt has scored at least 10 points in 10 of her 21 games this season with a pair of 20-point efforts, and averages 10.3 points per game as she bids to become just the 11th MSU true freshman to average double figures in at least 20 games. The Batavia, Ill., native ranks second in the MVC at 43.6 percent from 3-point range in league contests, and has 33 treys on the season. She also shoots 84 percent from the foul line and averages 2.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.

The Lady Bears (16-13, 13-5 MVC) begin play at the conference tournament in St. Charles, Mo., on Friday at 8:37 p.m. against sixth-seeded Indiana State.
