Postgame Quotes vs. Oklahoma State

Recap | Final Stats

Head Coach Terry Allen
Opening statement ...

"I was proud of our football team. We made some special-teams mistakes that really cost us, there's no question about that. I didn't feel on either side of the ball that we were totally overmatched by any means. I feel as good as you can feel after getting beat by 17 points."

On trouble in the kicking game ...
"The very first punt, we were going to kick it out of bounds. The ball - it's not round - so it doesn't always fly where you want it to, and it went down the middle. Then, the second time, [Chris Sullens] was going to make sure that he kicked it where we wanted to and they put a heck of a rush on and they obviously blocked it. And then the third little debacle of that was that the snap hit the turf. So we had a blocked punt and then we had a punt that, I don't know how long it ended up being, but it was survival of the fittest because it ended up being a ricocheted snap."

On offensive performance ...
"I thought that a couple of times early that Kierra still just needed to settle down - and he did. When he's under control out there, he can move it against anybody. He gets you in the right protection, he throws the right passes, he can do it with his feet. And I thought that he really did a nice job, as did we offensively."

On defense ...
"Defensively, they are really, really fast and they had a third-and-20 and our best football player fell down - it happens - and he went 70 yards, or whatever. Again, I am proud of our football team. I'm looking forward to next week and weeks to come with this team.

On the play of Kierra Harris through the first two game ...
"[He's been] doggone good. If we hit them with the big one that kind of goes through somebody's arms at the start there, that's a heck of a throw. And then he comes back and what's he throw? Two more touchdown passes. He didn't throw an interception today, we didn't turn the ball over today and that's thanks to him."
