SPRINGFIELD -- The annual Missouri State University Auction Benefiting Athletics returns to the Springfield EXPO Center on Friday, August 15.
The 27th version of the fan-friendly event features both live and silent auctions, an expanded balloon raffle, live auction item raffle, the always-popular food carnival, a photo booth, and up-close interaction with Missouri State coaches and administrators. More than 400 silent-auction items are part of this year's fan gala with a total estimated value of all auction items well in excess of $100,000.
The Auction Benefiting Athletics serves as the primary fundraiser for Missouri State University's intercollegiate athletic programs. This year's proceeds will benefit the various sports teams at MSU and serves as a social event to kick off the upcoming 2014-2015 athletic year. Nearly a thousand Bears' fans are expected to attend the event and its wide variety of activities throughout the evening.
Doors open at 5 p.m. for the 2014 Auction Benefiting Athletics. The eight silent auction sections will close at staggered times throughout the evening beginning at 6:40 p.m. The live auction will feature more than 30 items and will get underway around 8:15 p.m. Items in the live auction include travel packages, furniture, unique MSU Athletics experiences and more.
Individual tickets are just $30 and include all-you-can-eat food and complimentary beverages. Reserved tables for 10 are $500.
