KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Missouri State women's golf team finished the UMKC's Kangaroo Invitational: Gary Crossley Ford Kansas City Shootout in seventh place after shooting 314-318-322-954 over the two-day tournament.
Missouri Valley Conference member Wichita State (306-301-319-926) won the intercollegiate after recording tournament lows in the first and second rounds.
South Dakota State (309-309-319-937), North Dakota State (312-320-316-948), Oklahoma City (319-315-315-949), hosts UMKC (313-314-323-950), and Western Michigan (307-320-325-952) all finished ahead of MSU in the fifteen-school field.
This is the fifth time this season that the Bears have finished in the top-10 of tournaments, and the first time that sophomore Ariel Tidwell has cracked the top-10 in her Missouri State career.
Tidwell, who was in a tie for third after the first two rounds, finished the tournament tied for seventh at 79-73-80-232 with Oklahoma Christian's Anna Arrese Cortadel (77-77-78-232).
Fellow sophomore Lindsey Eisenreich's tie for fourteenth is the best of her MSU career as well. Eisenreich carded 81-79-76-236 en route to her first top-20 finish.
Chiara Citterio (74-85-85-244), Megan Furnish (80-81-84-245), and Estefania Acosta (83-90-82-255) round out the five golfers scoring for Missouri State.
Freshman Caroline Boone (80-74-88-242), competed as an individual, and tied for a career-best thirtieth place.
North Dakota State's Sarah Storandt maintained her Monday lead to win the tournament after shooting (76-72-75-223).
Nebraska-Omaha's Kathryn Kresti (80-77-72-229), UMKC's Susan Kirschenman (77-77-75-229), and Redlands' Ivon Reijers (77-71-81-229) all tied for second.
Missouri State will travel next to the Missouri Valley Conference Championship in Springfield, Ill. The three-day tournament will take place on April 20-22.
