The Missouri State Lady Bears (2-7, 0-0 MVC) wrap up their four-game homestand Friday evening at 7 p.m. against Arkansas State (3-4).

After playing their first six games of the season away from home, Missouri State has gone 2-1 during its last three home games, with the defense allowing 62 points and forcing 20.3 turnovers on average in those three contests.

After Friday, the Lady Bears will break from competition until a Dec. 30 showdown with Missouri in the Sprint Center in Kansas City, then return home to open Missouri Valley Conference play with three games at JQH Arena.

Series History

Missouri State holds a 10-8 series lead over Arkansas State and is facing ASU for a 10th consecutive season. The Lady Bears are 6-2 against the Red Wolves in Springfield, and had won five straight in the series overall before ASU's 79-61 victory last season. Missouri State earned an 83-60 win in Arkansas State's last visit to JQH Arena on Dec. 15, 2012.

Arkansas State is 3-4 on the season entering its Wednesday game at Kent State, with all four losses coming on the road against schools from Power Five football leagues. The Red Wolves are the preseason favorite to win the Sun Belt Conference this season, and junior guard Aundrea Gamble is the league's preseason player of the year. Gamble averages 19.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists this year. As a team, Arkansas State averages 68.6 points and allows 64.7 per game while shooting 43.5 percent overall, 29.3 percent on 3-pointers and 65.2 percent from the foul line.
