Kenzie Williams was honored Monday as the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week in women's basketball, the league office announced. The junior guard from Mt. Vernon, Mo., has now won the award three times in her MSU career.
Williams averaged 22 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals in two games last week, including a season-high 29 points in Sunday's win against IUPUI. Williams made a career-high 10 field goals against the Jaguars and added four steals, three boards and three assists, going 10-for-19 from the floor and 3-for-7 from three-point land. Wednesday against Arkansas, Williams scored a team-high 15 points while grabbing six rebounds and dishing out four assists.
The Lady Bears return to action Friday at 7 p.m. against Arkansas State (3-4) at JQH Arena.
