Sept. 12, 2011

Clones of the Jim Rome radio program will get a chance to hear Missouri State senior forward Kyle Weems on the show Wednesday (Sept. 14) afternoon. Weems, the 2011 Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year, is scheduled to appear at (revised) 1:30 p.m., Central, as part of the program's ongoing "Kyle" series.

The Jim Rome Show has had at least one sports-related guest named Kyle on the program every day since August 1. Should the streak continue Tuesday, Weems would be the 26th Kyle to appear on the show.

Weems has scored 1,368 points in three seasons with the Bears and is ranked by BasketballProspectus.com as the No. 27 player in Division I basketball for the upcoming season. He averaged 16.0 points and 6.9 rebounds a year ago in helping lead the Bears to a 26-9 campaign and the program's first-ever MVC regular-season title.

The Jim Rome Show, also known as The Jungle, airs internationally on more than 200 radio stations each weekday and boasts more than two million listeners on the Premiere Radio Network. The program airs 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Central) and can be heard locally on Jock 98.7 FM in Springfield.
