Missouri State Postgame Quotes vs. SDSU

Oct. 29, 2011

Recap | Final Stats

Trevor Wooden

Stats don't really mean much. The ending score does, and we had several opportunities to win. We all saw that and came up short. To be the football team we want to be, that's not going to cut it. The stats can be 10 touchdowns, but if you lose by six, it's still a loss.

We have faith in our kicker. I've got faith in him. I hold the ball for him and I see him kick every day. But we missed it and we had other chances in overtime and we've gotta take advantage of those.

Jermaine Saffold

Getting hurt is real hard, especially in a close game. Your team needs you, and I wanted to be out there, so I've got to get it taped and do the best I can to help.

It feels good to break the record, especially here at home. But I would give anything just to take this win.

Matt Thayer

I look at it as we have two weeks to prepare for Indiana State, so we have some practices to get better and learn what they do and beat them next time we suit up.

The offense has definitely come together. It's more just a camaraderie. We feel more comfortable with each other and are spending more time with each other. Not just certain groups - it's everybody, the whole offense. I think we've found our stride. We're coming into our own. It's a tough loss, but aside from some penalties and a few mistakes, I thought we played pretty well today but obviously didn't get it done.
