The Game:

Missouri State takes a six-game winning streak and 4-0 record in the Missouri Valley Conference on the road Sunday (7:30 p.m.) to battle MVC preseason favorite Wichita State in a nationally-televised showdown for early league supremecy.

The Bears have won their first two MVC road games and will look to improve to 5-0 in the conference for the first time since joining the Valley in 1990-91. MSU is coming off a 65-50 home win over Evansville on Friday night before the third-largest crowd (9,134) ever at JQH Arena. The Bears shot 50 percent from the field and got game highs from Kyle Weems (Jr., F, Topeka, Kan.) with 17 points and 10 rebounds for his seventh career double-double. Nathan Scheer (Fr., F, Washington, Mo.) tallied a career-high 14 points in the win, while MVC Player of the Week Jermaine Mallett (Sr., G, Jackson, Miss.) added 11 points. Nafis Ricks (Sr., G, Philadelphia, Pa.) also pitched in with a career-high 9 assists as MSU won its 17th straight home contest.

Wichita State has won eight straight games and is 25-1 at Koch Arena over the last two seasons. The Shockers beat Illinois State, 65-51, on Friday night as J.T. Durley led WSU with 13 points in a game the Shockers led by as many as 22 points.

MSU leads the all-time series, 28-27, but has lost five straight against the Shockers and three straight at Koch Arena.
