SPRINGFIELD - Missouri State University senior tailback Jonathan Davis has been suspended from the Bears football team indefinitely for violating team conduct rules, according to head coach Terry Allen. The action was taken in accordance with the University's Intercollegiate Athletics Code of Conduct.
"We have a behavioral code of conduct that all of our players must follow," Allen said. "There are consequences for violating the code and procedures we have to follow. In this case, we will move forward and finish spring practice without Jonathan, and we will know more about his future with our program in the coming weeks."
Davis, a senior from Tampa, Fla., is a three-time letterman and finished fourth on the team in rushing last season with 284 yards on 77 carries. During his Missouri State career, he has 540 yards in 143 carries with four touchdowns in his 22 games played.
