Student-Athlete of the Week for June 1: J.C. Casey

Missouri State senior J.C. Casey fired 10 innings of shutout relief against Creighton on Friday at the State Farm MVC Tournament at TD Ameritrade Park.

After Grant Gordon allowed three runs in the first inning, Casey held Creighton scoreless from the second through the 11th, pitching the longest relief appearance in Missouri State history at 10 innings while striking out 11 Bluejays, allowing five hits and one walk. He is the first Bear to throw more than nine innings in a game in seven years.
