Missouri State Announces National Signing Day Commitments

Missouri State has received signed National Letters of Intent or written offers of financial aid from a number of student-athletes today during the first day of the National Signing Period for football, soccer, field hockey and track.  The period extends to April 1 for football and to August 1 for the other sports listed.

By sport, here are the commitments received by Missouri State as of 4:00 p.m., April 26, 2010:

FOOTBALL 

Missouri State's high school commitments are from:

  • Noah Ashley (WR, 6-2, 170, Fr., Culver City, Calif., Culver City High) A first-team all-Ocean League receiver his senior year, Ashley collected 39 receptions for 620 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2009 for coach Jahmal Wright. He helped the Centaurs to a 9-2 record his senior season and is also a basketball standout. He was recruited by Idaho and Villanova.
  • Andrew Beisel (LB, 6-2, 210, Fr., Fenton, Mo., Rockwood Summit High) One of the most-prolific tacklers in the St. Louis area last season, Beisel tallied 155 total stops for the Rockwood Summit Falcons which ranked sixth among all high school players in the metro area. He has a 3.9 grade-point average and claimed first-team all-conference honors as a linebacker and tight end, while earning second-team all-state distinction by the Missouri sportswriters and sportscasters. He also claimed first-team all-district and third-team Post-Dispatch All-Metro honors for coach Mike Belers.
  • Sybhrian Berry (CB, 5-9, 175, Fr., Camden, Ark., Fairview High) Part of a the Arkansas Class 5A runners-up at Camden (Ark.) Fairview High in 2009, Berry was an all-state cornerback. He collected 13 interceptions as a senior, including three returned for touchdowns. He is also a noted kick returner and was selected to play in the Arkansas High School All-Star game. The all-conference standout helped coach Buck James' Cardinals to a 10-4 overall record this season.
  • Joe Burgess (OL, 6-6, 300, Fr., Florissant, Mo., McCluer North High) A three-year starter for coach Jim Schottmueller at McCluer North High, Burgess was rated the No. 23 prospect in the Post-Dispatch Super 30 list after earning first-team All-Metro laurels. He helped the Stars average 301.3 yards per game of total offense and earned all-conference and all-state honors twice. MaxPreps.com named him to the All-Missouri Second Team (all classes) after helping McCluer North claim three straight district titles and a 6-5 record in 2009. He was also recruited by Nebraska and Kansas State.
  • Julian Burton (WR/RB, 5-10, 185, Fr., Memphis, Tenn., White Station High)  A versatile athlete with great speed, Burton was a Tennessee all-state performer for the Class 6A state champion White Station squad. He was rated a three-star recruit on Rivals.com and scored 32 touchdowns in two seasons with just under 2,000 all-purpose yards. He also snatched seven interceptions and was a two-time Commercial Appeal Best of the Preps selection. In the state championship game, he earned offensive and defensive MVP honors. He was also recruited by Memphis, Louisiana Tech, Middle Tennessee, Alabama State and Hampton.
  • Nick Canavan (LB, 5-11, 205, Fr., Norman, Okla., Northside High)  A solid defender and two-time Oklahoma all-state pick, Canavan tallied 353 career tackles for coach Lance Manning at Norman Northside High. His three varsity seasons also netted eight sacks and two interceptions while claiming all-district and all-conference honors twice. The three-year starter was also a standout running back for the Timberwolves.
  • Zack Cooley (OL, 6-5, 275, Fr., Lebanon, Mo., Lebanon High) A Rivals.com two-star recruit, Cooley was a Missouri second-team all-state offensive tackle in 2009 by both the coaches and sportswriters for coach Will Christian at Lebanon High. He earned first-team all-conference, all-district and All-Ozarks first-team distinction at offensive tackle and defensive end for the Yellowjackets. He also claimed first-team academic all-state honors and was recruited by Northern Iowa and Southern Illinois.
  • Michael Crutcher (DB, 6-1, 200, Fr., Wentzville, Mo., Timberland High) Crutcher helped Timberland to a 9-2 record his senior season and 19-3 cumulative ledger his final two seasons as a starter for the Wolves. He earned all-district honors in 2009 after collecting 100 tackles, an interception, a sack and a safety. He was also a two-time all-conference pick for coach Craig Collins.
  • Richard Galbierz (OL, 6-3, 285, Fr., Arnold, Mo., Fox High) Galbierz earned Class 6 second-team all-state honors in 2009 while leading Fox to a 9-3 record and state playoff appearance. He was also a first-team all-conference and all-district pick his senior season for the Warriors of coach Nick Gianino. He helped anchor an offensive line that averaged 330 yards per game of total offense.
  • Samuel Goode (DT, 6-3, 305, Fr., Jacksonville, Fla., Ribault High) Goode tallied 67 tackles, 11 sacks, 17 tackles for loss and an interception return for a touchdown in 2009 for coach Anthony Flynn's Ribault High Trojans. He was selected to play in the Florida Shrine Bowl and was named Class 2A District 3 Offensive Lineman of the Year. He was also an all-district and all-conference offensive lineman and was named to the Florida Times-Union all-metro second team as a defensive tackle.
  • Mitchell Jenkins (QB, 6-3, 203, Fr., Springfield, Mo., Hillcrest High) Jenkins guided Hillcrest High in Springfield to its first-ever playoff victory this season as the Hornets finished 7-5 overall. The southpaw threw for 2,775 yards and 35 touchdowns to earn Class 4 all-state honors by both the coaches and sportswriters, along with All-Ozark Conference and All Southwest Missouri distinction. An outstanding scholar with a 3.9 grade-point average, he completed 156-of-299 passes and rushed for 570 yards and seven touchdowns for coach John Beckham.
  • Josh Mattes (RB, 6-1, 220, Fr., Lebanon, Mo., Lebanon High) A powerful runner with great speed and athleticism, Mattes made the transition from receiver to running back for his senior year at Lebanon High School. He earned all-district, academic all-conference, and All-Ozarks Conference honors for the second straight season for coach Will Christian. In 2009, he had 200 carries for 1,224 yards and scored 20 touchdowns in 2009 while helping the Yellowjackets to a 5-5 record. In 2008, he had 45 receptions for 486 yards as the team's feature receiver. The all-state sprinter and triple jumper was also recruited by UNI and Southern Illinois.
  • Martin Montgomery (DE, 6-3, 235, Fr., Pine Bluff, Ark., Pine Bluff High) After recording 85 total tackles his senior season, Montgomery helped coach Bobby Bolding's Zebras to an Arkansas Class 6A runner-up finish and 9-5 overall record. The all-state defensive end also tallied 20 sacks, 15 tackles for loss, and recovered three fumbles during the campaign. An all-conference selection, he was also picked to play in the Arkansas All-Star Game.
  • Eric Pearce (DT, 6-2, 280, Fr., Springdale, Ark., Har-Ber High) The 2009 Arkansas all-state defensive lineman helped his Har-Ber squad to an Arkansas Class 7A state title and 12-1 overall record. He was a two-time all-conference pick for coach Chris Wood's Wildcats and was selected to play in the Arkansas High School All-Star Game after producing 46 total tackles and seven sacks as a senior.
  • Jordan Rainey (OL, 6-5, 310, Fr., Joplin, Mo., Joplin High) A two-star recruit by Rivals.com, Rainey established himself as a top-shelf prospect in 2009, earning Class 6 first-team all-state honors for the Joplin Eagles of coach Doug Buckmaster. He was first-team all-conference and all-district his senior season after claiming second-team laurels from the district and league in 2008. He helped Joplin to an Ozark Conference title his junior season and was also recruited by Arkansas, Kansas State and Arkansas State.
  • Caleb Schaffitzel (DB, 6-0, 205, Fr., Fair Grove, Mo., Fair Grove High) One of the most prolific scorers in Missouri high school history, Schaffitzel broke state career records for touchdowns (141) and all-purpose yards (10,512), while accumulating 8,551 career rushing yards and 119 rushing touchdowns. The two-time all-state and four-time all-district standout started 47 straight games for coach Jason O'Neal as a two-way performer. He also accumulated 432 career tackles as a safety with 11 interceptions.  His senior season, he accounted for 50 total touchdowns, and carried 275 times for 2,711 yards to help him tally 3,302 all-purpose yards for the Eagles.
  • Isaac Umesi (CB, 5-10, 175, Fr., Richland Hills, Texas, Richland High) A highly-touted corner, Umesi was a Texas Class 5A first-team all-district performer in District 3 for the Rebels of Richland High. He also snagged second-team all-district honors as a junior in 2008. He was named a Top 100 player by the Dallas Morning News (No. 74), a Top 50 recruit by the Fort Worth Star Telegram (top 4 defensive back), and a Top 10 prospect at the Coppel Combine. With exceptional 4.4 speed and a 33-inch vertical, Rivals.com ranked him as a three-star prospect. He was also recruited heavily by Kansas, as well as Baylor, and Colorado State.
  • Austin Witmer (K, 6-5, 180, Fr., Grand Island, Neb., Grand Island Central Catholic High) A four-year letterman at Grand Island (Neb.) Catholic High, Witmer kicked 76 extra points and converted 24 field goals during his prep career for the Crusaaders. He earned first-team all-state honors in 2008 and 2009 after claiming honorable mention all-state distinction in 2007 for coach Charlie Shoemaker.  He was all-conference and all-district three seasons and averaged 57.9 yards per kickoff in 2009 while helping his team to an 8-2 season. He was also recruited by Minnesota and Nebraska-Kearney.

Transfers already enrolled and attending classes at Missouri State are:

  • Kaleb Mueller (LS, 6-2, 220, Jr., Paola, Kan., Paola High, Fort Scott [Kan.] Community College) Rated as one of the top 12 long snappers in the nation by Scout.com, Mueller was part of a Fort Scott (Kan.) Community College squad that was 11-1 in 2009 and finished as national runners-up. The Greyhounds were 7-0 in the Jayhawk Conference and Region VI champions.
  • Matt Thayer (TE, 6-4, 245, So., Bellevue, Neb., Bellevue East High, Iowa Western Community College) An all-region tight end as a freshman at Iowa Western Community College in 2009, Thayer had 15 catches for 175 yards and a pair of touchdowns in 2009. He was an All-MFC Region selection and academic all-conference pick for the Reivers of coach Scott Strohmeier. He helped his squad to a 5-4 mark in the program's inaugural season. He was an all-conference and all-state pick as a high school senior at Bellevue (Neb.) East High for coach Jerry Lovell.

Newly-announced junior college transfers who will attend Missouri State this fall:

  • Willie White (WR, 6-3, 205, Jr., Kingsland, Ga., Camden County High, Coffeyville [Kan.] Community College) One of the nation's top receiving prospects as a high school senior in 2007, White redshirted his freshman year at Georgia Tech, then suffered a meniscus injury his second season at the Atlanta school. He transferred to Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College in 2009 and broke his wrist in another season-ending injury during 2009 preseason two-a-day practices. He was a three-star recruit out of Camden County (Ga.) High School by YahooSports.com in the class of 2007 with a 4.5 40-yard dash time. He also was a Rivals.com Top 50 receiver prospect (No. 38) and No. 14 overall prospect in Georgia. He had 15 catches for 219 yards and a pair of touchdowns as a prep senior along with 42 tackles and two interceptions as a defensive back.

 

MEN'S SOCCER

Cole Alexander, Elverta, Calif. (Oakmont High)

Alexander was a four-year starter at forward for Oakmont High.  He tallied 16 goals and five assists during his senior year to finish second in the league in scoring and earn all-league first team accolades.  During his junior season, he scored six goals and five assists after missing half of the season due to injury.  His efforts still earned him all-league second team honors as his team finished second in the sectional championships.  His sophomore campaign produced a 10-goal, three-assist output to earn all-league first team and finish second in league scoring.  He led his club team, San Juan U-17, to the Surf Cup, Phoenix President's Cup, and Nomad's Championships in 2008, lifting the squad to a No. 3 national ranking.  Alexander also played football his senior and freshman years earning the Viking Pride Award during his first season.

Matt Bray, Oklahoma City, Okla. (Putnam City North High)

Bray enters his senior season for head coach Tom Pecore with one year of playing time at Putnam City North.  He joined the Panthers for his junior campaign after being homeschooled to that point.  During his junior season, he was named team captain and impact player of the year in leading his team to an undefeated regular season for the first time in school history.  Putnam City North reached the state quarterfinals and Bray earned all-district and all-conference honors for his play.  Bray also played for club team OFC 92 and led them to the Oklahoma state championship and the regional semifinals in 2009.

Steven Groh, Oklahoma City, Okla. (Putnam City North High)

Groh enters his senior season with three years on the pitch for head coach Tom Pecore at Putnam City North.  He has recorded a goal and an assist in each of the past two seasons while leading the Panthers to the state quarterfinals both years.  During his junior season, his team went 14-2, winning the conference and district titles.  Groh was named to the All-Metro Conference team, The Oklahoman second team and all-Tribune first team his sophomore season.   His freshman campaign, he scored five goals, a school record for a freshman on the varsity squad, to earn All-Metro Conference first team honors.  His team reached the state finals his freshman season before falling in a shootout.

Andrew Riggs, St. Peters, Mo. (Fort Zumwalt South High)

Riggs has been a four-year starter in goal for Fort Zumwalt South High.  During his senior season, he broke the school record for career shutouts (39).  He earned Gateway Athletic Conference South Player of the Year accolades and was named Missouri Class 3 Goalkeeper of the Year in 2009.  He was also named to the first-team all-state, all-metro and all-conference teams during that senior campaign.  His junior year, Riggs was named second-team all-conference while leading his team to the conference title and a Top-10 ranking among large schools in the St. Louis area.  He led his team to the district championship during his sophomore season and was named all-conference honorable mention.  Off the field, Riggs was named to the academic all-conference squad each of the past three years.  He also started for the basketball team all four years.  He is the brother of current MSU goalkeeper, Alex Riggs.

Callen Roselieb, Downers Grove, Ill. (Downers Grove South High)

Roselieb was a four-year starter for the Mustangs at Downers Grove South.  He helped his team to a conference title during his senior campaign while serving as the team captain.  He received all-conference, all-sectional, Great Midwest Classic all-tournament honors, as well as, Gatorade Player of the Year accolades.  Roselieb played for the Chicago Fire juniors and led that squad to the regional and state cup finals.  During his junior season, he was named Gatorade Player of the Year for Downers Grove South and helped his team to a regional championship and the sectional finals.

Tyler Vieth, Evansville, Ind. (Evansville Memorial High)

Vieth was a four-year performer for head coach Bill Vieth at Evansville Memorial.  He helped the Tigers to a 65-game unbeaten streak from 2007-2009, including two state championships.  Vieth recorded 26 assists during his senior season en route to all-city, all-conference and all-state first team honors.  During his junior campaign, he also earned all-city, all-conference and all-state first team while leading the 23-0-2 squad to the state title and a No. 2 national ranking.  His sophomore season also yielded a 23-0-2 record, a state title and a No. 1 national ranking, while his freshman team went 19-2-2 to reach the state final four.  Evansville Memorial was a combined 84-5-6 during the four seasons Vieth played.  He also played for club team FC Evansville which won the Indiana State Cup in 2009.  Vieth's father and grandfather played soccer at Saint Louis University from 1982-1985 and 1961-1963, respectively.

WOMEN'S SOCCER

Maggie Dickson, St. Charles, Mo. (Incarnate Word Academy)

Dickson has led the Red Knights to the State Championship the past two seasons.  Last season, she scored three goals and added two assists for the 18-5 squad.  During her sophomore campaign, Dickson recorded two goals and four assists as Incarnate Word went 20-1-2.  In 2007, she scored 19 goals and 16 assists for the junior varsity squad.  She has also played on the club team St. Louis Scott Gallagher.  Her siblings, Rick and Brooke, have both attended Missouri State.

Adrianne Kalogerou, Glen Carbon, Ill. (Edwardsville High)

Kalogerou enters her senior season at Edwardsville High having started every match in her first three seasons as a Lady Tiger.  She was team captain her sophomore and junior seasons while leading her team to the regional championship and regional qualifier in those seasons, respectively.  She earned second-team all-conference as a junior and was named team MVP.  Her sophomore campaign led to an all-conference third team selection.  As a freshman, Kalogerou helped her team to a second-place finish in conference and an appearance in the super sectionals.

Kathleen Kujawa, Webster Groves, Mo. (Cor Jesu Academy)

Kujawa led her team to the district championship her junior season at Cor Jesu.  Her team advanced to the state quarterfinals, finishing fifth in state in 2009.  That team also won the Visitation Spring Tournament.  She also reached the district finals her freshman year with the Chargers.  Kujawa was a four-year member of the club team St. Louis Scott Gallagher, where she helped the team win the 2009 State Cup Championship and reach the finals in 2008.  Her sister, Kelsey, is currently a student at Missouri State.

Tiffany Laughlin, Florissant, Mo. (Pattonville High)

Laughlin has been a three-year starter for head coach Tom Iffrig.  During her tenure with the team, the Pirates have gone undefeated in conference play and were district champions her freshman and junior seasons.  During her junior season, Laughlin scored 11 goals and tallied 18 assists while earning first-team all-state, second-team all-metro and first-team all-conference honors for a Pirates team that finished third in state.  Her sophomore campaign netted her an all-conference second team honor after she scored six goals and 23 assists, the most in the Suburban North Conference.  Laughlin was named Rookie of the Year after her eight goal, 22 assist output as a freshman.  She was also named all-conference first team, all-metro third team and all-state honorable mention accolades her freshman season.  Laughlin was a place kicker for the football team her senior season.  Her sister, Jenna, was a member of Rob Brewer's Bears squad from 2005-2008.

Shelby Stewart, Springfield, Mo. (Parkview High)

Stewart has been a starting forward for head coach Clint Nurnberg for the past two seasons.  She was named to the all-district first team and all-conference second team both seasons.  During her junior campaign, Stewart registered 25 goals and 11 assists to earn first-team all-region and second-team all-Ozarks accolades along with being named to the West Plains all-tournament team.  Stewart has played at forward for the Vikings' basketball team and was a member of the track and field squad as well.  Both of Stewart's parents, Howard and Christy, and one brother, Aaron, have attended Missouri State.

Ashley Washburn, Overland Park, Kan. (St. Thomas Aquinas)

Washburn has been a member of Craig Ewing's squad the past three seasons, leading the team to the conference title all three years.  She registered 21 goals and 13 assists, garnering all-metro, all-state and all-conference first team honors.  Her team finished second in state last year while she served as a team captain.  During her sophomore season, Washburn tallied nine goals and eight assists to lead her team to the third-place finish in state.  She earned first-team all-state honors and was named to the all-metro and all-conference second teams.  Washburn was a teammate of current Bears goalkeeper Jessica Teahan when the squad won the state title in 2007.  Washburn added four goals and five assists that year.  She has also won the Kansas State Cup Championship every season from 2005 to 2009 as a member of the Blue Valley Stars Mallorca club team.  Washburn was also a four-year standout for the cross country team as she finished in the top three at state all four seasons.

Lauren Wendt, Troy, Ill. (Triad High)

Wendt has been a starter all three seasons for head coach Mike Villa at Triad High.  Her team has won the Mississippi Valley Conference title each of her years.  She was named to the all-conference first team as a junior.  Wendt helped the Knights win the Bi-State Shootout both her junior and sophomore seasons.

Brooke Williams, Kansas City, Mo. (Liberty High)

Williams has been a three-year starter at forward for head coach Tom Rottjakob at Liberty High.  She has led the team to three-consecutive conference and district titles.  Last season as a junior, Williams was named to the all-conference, all-district, All-Western Missouri Class 3 and all-state first team while serving as team captain.  She scored 32 goals for the Blue Jays lifting the team to the state quarterfinals.  As a sophomore, she scored 25 goals to lead the team to the state sectional finals.  She earned all-conference and all-district first team, All-Western Missouri Class 2 second team and all-state third team accolades that year.  During Williams' freshman year, she tallied 15 goals in helping her team to the state quarterfinals.  She was named to the all-district second team for her performance.  She also led her club teams to the Kansas State Cup finals each of the last three years.

FIELD HOCKEY

Catrina Schmidt, St. Louis, Mo. (Cor Jesu Academy)

Catrina Schmidt, joining the Bears from field hockey power Cor Jesu Academy, is a versatile player and will see time both at the forward and midfielder positions. The St. Louis native played field hockey, soccer and basketball at Cor Jesu, earning six total letters, and leading her field hockey team to two-straight state tournament final fours. As a senior, she was a first-team all-conference and a second-team all-metro honoree after being named an all-metro honorable mention as a junior. In addition to her school play, Schmidt excelled on her Aim Club Field Hockey team. She is the daughter of Steven and Catherine Schmidt.

Laura Tavares, Oakville, Ontario, Canada (St. Thomas Aquinas High School)

Laura Tavares is an athletic midfielder who will contribute on both ends of the field for the Bears. A four-year letterwinner and two-time captain, Tavares led her team to a combined 21-2-1 record her junior and senior seasons, with a first- and second-place conference finish, respectively. After being named the team's Most Valuable Player in 2008, she was named to her division's Varsity All-Star Game in 2009. Outside of St. Thomas Aquinas, Tavares represented her area as a three-year member of the Ontario Provincial team, while also seeing time with the Saskatchewan Provincial team. She is the daughter of Joe and Barb Tavares. She has a sister, Barbara, and her brother, John, was the first overall pick in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, going to the New York Islanders. 

Hillary Lawless, Wildwood, Mo. (Lafayette High School) 

Hillary Lawless is a talented offensive player who will be the latest in a long line of successful field hockey Bears to come from Lafayette High School. A two-sport athlete, Lawless was a four-year letterwinner in both field hockey and lacrosse. Her senior season, she led the Lafayette Lancers to a 19-4 overall record and finished with 31 points, earning first-team all-conference as well as third-team all-metro recognitions along the way. Lawless also helped Lafayette win three-straight St. Louis Public School Championships and was a standout for the Team Gateway St. Louis Club Field Hockey team coached by Missouri State Athletics Hall of Famer Kelly Stuckel-Yates. She is the daughter of Cheryl and Tom Lawless, a former Major League Baseball player who spent time with the Cincinnati Reds, Montreal Expos, Toronto Blue Jays and St. Louis Cardinals. Her older sister Samantha played field hockey at Robert Morris from 2005-2008.

 

WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD/CROSS COUNTRY

Lisa Imgrund, Shawnee Mission, Kan. (Shawnee Mission Northwest High School)

Lisa Imgrund will join the Bears after a successful high school career under legendary coach Van Rose at Shawnee Mission Northwest High School where Imgrund was a three-time all-state cross country and track and field selection in the Kansas 6A class. In cross country, Imgrund boasts state meet finishes of sixth in 2009, fourth in 2008 and third in 2007. On the track at the state level her senior season, Imgrund was the Kansas runner-up in the 3,200-meters and the fifth-place finisher in the 1,600-meters. Her resume includes a fifth-place 3,200-meters finish and a third-place 1,600-meters finish in 2008, as well as a second-place finish in the 3,200-meters in 2007. A three-time first-team all-K.C. Metro selection, Imgrund also has seen success at the national level, winning the 2008 Cross Country Coaches National Youth Championship. She is the daughter of Frank and Kathy Imgrund.

Erin Edwards, Kansas City, Mo. (Raytown South High School)

A three-time class 4 all-State cross country selection (2007, 2008 and 2009) Edwards comes to Missouri State from coach Sean Nunn's Raytown-South High School program.  Edwards also earned all-KC Mid 6 Conference honors each of her four years.  On the track Edwards has been one of Missouri's top 3,200-meter run athletes each of the past two seasons finishing 10th in 2008 and ninth in 2009 at the 4A state championship.  She won the 2007 KC Mid-6 Conference 3200-meter run individual title and was third in 2009 with her personal best 11:02.80 for the distance.  In addition to her success on the track Edwards is ranked first in her class academically.

Emily Argotsinger, Lee's Summit, Mo. (Lee's Summit West High School)

Argotsinger comes to Missouri State from Lee's Summit West High School, Missouri 4A champions for the past three years (2007-09).  In addition to being a strong cross country runner, Argotsinger is very talented on the track as well. In 2007, Argotsinger was a member of the state champion 4x800m relay team.  In 2008, she followed up that performance with a second-place finish in the 4x800m relay and qualified for the 800-meter run at the state championship meet.  In her senior season, Argotsinger capped off an impressive career with an All-American selection the 4x1 mile relay, an all-state nod in the 4x800-meter relay and qualified for state in the 800-meter run.

Sierra Jenkins, Clinton, Mo. (Clinton High School)

Jenkins comes to Missouri State after a breakout senior cross country season where she won the 2009 3A state cross country championship.  A two-time all-State selection (2008, 2009) Jenkins posted the state's third fastest 5K time among seniors in all classes at the 2009 state meet in Jefferson City.  In track and field Jenkins has qualified for the state championship each year placing 10th in the 3200-meter run in 2009, 13th in both the 1600-meter and 3200-meter runs in 2008 and in 2007 she was eight in the 3200-meters and 10th in the 1600-meters.  Jenkins will make her way to MSU from Clinton High School where she has been coached by Clint and Karen Sanders.  Both of the Sander's children (Ashley - MSU '06, Ty - MSU '09) competed for Missouri State in cross country and track and field.

Alyx Dull, Clinton, Mo. (Clinton High School)

Dull came away from the 2009 state 3A track and field championship with runner-up honors in the 100-meters. In that state final, Dull posted a career-best performance 12.04-seconds (wind aided). In the state meet preliminary round, Dull posted a 12.18-second (wind aided) performance, and at her sectional meet she took second with a 12.40-second performance. During the 2008 season, Dull took 10th at the state championship in the 100-meters. At her 2008 district meet, Dull posted her career-best 200-meter performance with a 25.90-second (hand time) run. Dull's top electronic timed 200-meter performance came at the 2009 district 7 meet (26.33). At Clinton High School, Dull has been coached by Clint and Karen Sanders, whose daughter and son (Ashley, '06 and Ty, '09) competed for MSU.  At Clinton, Dull is a teammate of fellow 2010 MSU signee Sierra Jenkins.
