. – Fans of Missouri State basketball have a unique opportunity to purchase discounted tickets to the 2011 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments. All-session tournament ticket packages for both events are on sale now through January 1 in person at the Missouri State Athletics Box Office in JQH Arena or by phone at (417)836-7678.
Tickets (nine games) for the men's tournament, which will take place March 3-6, at Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Mo., are on sale for as low as $110 (reserved seating upper bowl). Lower-bowl and select mid-court upper-bowl all-session tickets are available for $125 apiece. Tickets for the men’s tournament can be purchased after the January 1 deadline through Ticketmaster – by phone at (800) 745-3000, or online at ticketmaster.com – as well as through the Scottrade Center box office.
Now in its fourth year at a neutral site, the women's tournament will be held at The Family Arena in St. Charles, Mo., March 10-13. All-session tickets (nine games) for the event are available for as low as $30 apiece (when purchased prior to or on January 1). Packages purchased after January 1 will be sold for $50 each through MetroTix in St. Charles at (314) 534-1111.
Single-session tickets for both tournaments will go on sale in mid-January.
During the tournament, the Bears of head coach Cuonzo Martin will be staying at the Marriott Union Station in St. Louis. To make reservations call the hotel 314-621-5262 and reference the Missouri State fan block for the MVC Men’s Tournament. Fans are reminded that the St. Louis area will also be hosting its annual Mardi Gras festivities during the weekend of the tournament, so rooms will be at a premium.
Head coach Nyla Milleson’s Lady Bears will lodge at the Sheraton Plaza Tower in Westport during their tournament stay. Fans should reference the Missouri State fan block for the MVC Women’s Tournament when making reservations through the hotel by phone at (314) 878-1500.
All 10 teams -- Bradley, Creighton, Drake, Evansville, Illinois State, Indiana State, Missouri State, UNI, Southern Illinois, and Wichita State -- will compete in both the men’s and women’s tournaments, with the winners receiving the MVC’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
