Bears Host Preseason NIT Consolation Rounds Monday, Tuesday

Looking to snap a two-game skid, the Missouri State Bears return to JQH Arena on Monday and Tuesday to host the Dick’s Sporting Goods NIT Season Tip-Off consolation round. The four-team pod features MSU, Arkansas State, Pepperdine and Pacific. The Bears will not play Arkansas State, but host Pepperdine at 7:05 p.m. on Monday before taking on Pacific at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday in a rematch of the 2010 CIT Championship game.

Arkansas State, which the Bears defeated in the first round of the tournament, 80-71, will play Pacific at 4:30 p.m. Monday before doing battle with Pepperdine on Tuesday, also at 4:30 p.m.

MSU is coming off back-to-back road losses last week, including a 60-56 defeat at No. 23 Tennessee (11/17/10) and a 62-50 loss at Tulsa (11/19/10). Missouri State shot poorly in both outings with a 28.3-percent (17-for-60) effort at Tulsa on the heels of a 35.6-percent (21-for-59) performance at Tennessee.

The Bears conclude the four-game home stand on Wednesday, Dec. 1 against UALR (7:05 p.m.) and Saturday, Dec. 4 against Central Arkansas (7:05 p.m.).
